Covid-19 Update | Thursday, July 2nd 2020 at 6:10 PM
Due to the rise of COVID-19 in Abilene, city leadership has recommended we implement the following guidelines:
Re-Opening | Sunday, May 24th 2020 at 10:00AM
Good news! We are re-opening for in-person worship. We do have some guidelines set in place in order to keep everyone safe and healthy.
Please check out our Welcome Back page for more information on these specific guidelines. Thank you for all your cooperation.
Easter Sunday | Thurs, April 9th 10:00 AM
Our Senior Pastor and church elders have been in discussion about offering drive-up communion for our congregation. We will NOT be meeting in our sanctuary. We will still go live with our Easter Sunday service at 10:00AM. Following our online service, we are inviting church members to drive up to The River for communion. Our Creative Director has made a page on our website specifically for this Easter experience. We highly encourage you to check it out for more information detailing this event. If you have any questions please feel free to contact our church leadership.
Groups Update | Sun, April 5th 1:00 PM
Our church leadership is closely monitoring the COVID19 situation and as of right now all church groups are still cancelled. If you need immediate assistance, please use the contact buttons below to either contact our office or our Senior Pastor. We understand that right now is a difficult time for everyone in our congregation but we wan’t to assure you that we are still here for you. Thank you for your understanding.
Sunday service is cancelled | Thurs, March 19th 2:50 PM
It is with a heavy heart that we must suspend Sunday services until further notice. The River’s leadership team is currently working to create an online worship experience for members. Please be on the lookout for any information regarding our online service experience. We understand that these are very uncertain times. However, this gives us the opportunity to be the church, outside of church. As more information becomes available, we will make sure to communicate that with you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to email our office, or email Pastor David.
Also as a reminder, because of the new guidelines from the CDC, we are suspending Groups, River Kids and River students until further notice. Please check out our website for the most recent information. Thank you for your understanding River family.
CoronaVirus Update | Mon, March 16th 10:00 PM
As of right now ALL GROUPS are cancelled for this week. As per CDC, “Different parts of the country are seeing different levels of COVID-19 activity. The United States nationally is currently in the initiation phases, but states where community spread is occurring are in the acceleration phase. The duration and severity of each phase can vary depending on the characteristics of the virus and the public health response.” Our Pastor and Elders are actively monitoring the situation. We will update you on any necessary changes that may occur for this upcoming Sunday service.
CoronaVirus Update | Sat, March 14th 12:01 PM
As you have all been seeing in the news, Coronavirus (or COVID-19) has been making its presence known in the US. The River’s church leadership is consistently monitoring the situation and will be implementing the necessary precautions to minimize the spread of COVID-19. As of right now, we will still worship our Lord at 10 am Sunday in the sanctuary. There has not been any confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Abilene, TX and we are still considered low risk. However, we do want to reassure you that we are taking extra precautions to minimize the spread of any viral infection.
- First and foremost, we do ask that if you are feeling ill, please do not attend service. Sermons are posted on our Facebook and YouTube channel during the week.
- We do have hand sanitation stations right outside of the worship center. Please take advantage of this and use them. We also have hand sanitizer bottles by the check-in stations and in all of our kid’s classrooms.
- Our cleaning staff also sanitizes both buildings the day prior to service.
- We ask that starting tomorrow, you greet each other with a smile instead of a handshake. Although COVID-19 is airborne, we want to try and limit physical contact to minimize other viral infections.
- Lastly, we know that online giving may not be an option for everyone but we would like to encourage you to take that route if possible.
